Spent three days being a private tutor for a group of 20 Chinese students from Guangzhou. Topics covered were restaurant dialogs and writing an application into a Master’s Degree program.

Waitstaff at luxurious Japanese Restaurant in the center of Waikiki, a hotspot for tourism from around the World. Worked with numerous Japanese speakers, from owners, managers, coworkers, and customers. Strived to provide excellent service to all customers of all cultures. Regularly used Japanese and English. Also worked as a translator for the menu as well as the restaurant blog. In charge of the Restaurant’s Twitter.
The Apple Store; Honolulu, HI — September 2008 - August 2009
Assisted customers with sales at the World-Renowned Apple Store at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in Waikiki. Often worked with customers from around the globe. Also provided 1 to 1 lessons on Apple Software.
Lucky Brand Jeans; Honolulu, HI — September 2007 - September 2008
Salesperson at an All-American denim store in Waikiki. Provided customer service for luxury denim to customers
Big Brothers and Big Sisters; Honolulu, HI — two to three times a year
Provide tour guide assistance to groups of Japanese High School students around popular sightseeing destinations in Honolulu. Was strictly told to only speak English during the duration of the tour, to promote English conversation with the students.
Volunteer Experience
Global Mission Center, Iwaki-Shi, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan — June 2011
Spent one month doing volunteering in Iwaki-shi (40km away from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power plant) Fukushima after the 3/11/11 triple disaster. Most days were spent doing debris cleanup. Also worked with food delivery, supply delivery, and mental healing. Embraced skills a bilingual by being an intercultural communicator and translating various works for outside publication.
Makiki Christian Church, Honolulu, Hawaii
Various volunteer efforts, including a cross cultural international exchange program with Kochi City in Japan called Rainbow Connection. Volunteer work consists of organizing the program, schedule, and leading a three-day camp that allows students from Hawaii and Japan to fellowship.

Organizes a cross-church worship concert that happens four times a year and sometimes brings in more than a hundred guests. Also simultaneously translates the Pastor’s message once a month for English speakers who are members of the church.
